Founder, Desert Horse-Grant, spoke with both the mothers and the daughters about life on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The day was lovely and everyone participated in a traditional Round Dance, talked about what they knew of Native American culture, and the children were hands on during a show and tell of beautiful American Indian artifacts. Red Shirt Elementary School in Red Shirt, South Dakota, will use the books in their growing library. Thanks girls!!

Grammy nominated, singer, song writer & producer John Forté performed for Give K’U to a sold out NYC crowd. 100% of the proceeds were given to support the children of Red Shirt Elementary School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Give K’U wants to thank Pop Burger and all our guests for such a memorable event!! Special videos and pictures were displayed on all the walls, alongside paintings from the children that were sent from the principal for the special day.

Last week all the books were shipped to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to Red Shirt Elementary. They have hence been received and have been shared with the students and teachers within the virtual high school. Give K’U would like to give a sincere “thank you” to the students and teachers in Weston, MA!

Co-Founder, Cherese H. Grant-Giordano and her children (Emma & Theodore) gave a presentation about the importance of American Indian history. In the picture attached Cherese is explaining the role of the Give K’U Foundation to school children at the Franklin Elementary School. The students said they learned a lot and their enthusiasm showed when each student wrote a thoughtful thank you note outlining their favorite lesson/new fact.

 The Donations Were Extremely Generous –So Many Top Brands & Many Brand New!

Thanks to families in Summit, NJ and very kind hearted friends of Maplecrest Ford in Mendham, NJ, Give K’U was able to send out over 12 large boxes of coats, hats, boots and books to the 2 reservation schools. The boxes arrived in South Dakota on a day where the weather was -10 degrees!!! “Just at the right time. Thank you so much!” said Principal Barbara Ice

In the fall of 2008, 5 high school students are taking classes virtually! Last week Give K’U was able to send laptops for the students to share as many do not have internet in their home. More laptops are needed.
